HDPE - High Density Polyethylene

HDPE is an abbreviation for high density polyethylene. This material is harder, stronger and more durable than other types of polyethylene due to its high density and low wavelength. HDPE is a type of plastic used in storage tanks for liquids, water pipes, wastewater pipes, plastic packaging materials, toys, furniture and many more applications. It is also preferred as an environmentally friendly option due to its recyclability.

HDPE is resistant to chemicals and moisture, and withstands hard knocks, scratches and tears. Therefore, it is an ideal material for many industrial and commercial applications.


However, HDPE also has some disadvantages. For example, it can degrade when exposed to UV rays, melt at high temperatures, and be damaged by contact with certain chemicals such as solvents.

  • Sports equipment: Skateboard ramps, soccer goals, beach volleyball nets and other sports equipment can also be made of HDPE.
